Mineral Makeup Foundation - Xantha Shade

I use Xantha as my pre concealer foundation and to add golden yellow to my foundations. I love these foundation powders. Customer service is amazing. I sent a picture of myself via Facebook messenger and the owner Katherine and her staff members helped me pick my matches. Mixing foundation shades is simple and so fun.

I am a medium dark skinned African American woman. I learned that I have a yellow neutral tone that is slightly olive. My perfect mixture is Xantha as my base color and Melanie mixed with a little Olivia. For a darker more tanned looked I wear Xantha and Olivia alone. I always apply Xantha to my skin first as a pre concealer foundation and to lighten and add more yellow to my foundations. Then, I add Melanie alone, Olivia alone, or a mixture of Melanie and Olivia on top depending on the look I am going for.

I have very oily skin. I use the velvet formula. A little goes a long way. Coverage is excellent and the formula is gentle and does not break me out. The foundations last through the day. I apply my foundations dry, using the wet method, or simply set it with a mist of distilled water depending on the look I want. It is versatile. I love this foundation! It applies beautifully especially using the Moist Method, but it applies nicely dry as well. It gives beautiful coverage without making the face look artificial (or cakey), even if I apply many layers. I love that I do not HAVE to use a primer with this foundation and it does not even oxidize without it! It also lasts pretty much all day and it feels incredibly light on my skin!

I must note something very important to me (among the other things I have just noted)...the undertone. It is SPOT ON to mine, as I am a very strong yellow/golden-olive complexion and it is not easy to match foundation to my skin for this reason...so I REALLY appreciate this. I am a Black woman, so me having this undertone is a bit rare especially since most companies make foundations for my skins depth too orange/red/pink or ashy. Thank you Katherine for thinking of us ladies with this undertone!

I currently wear the Dewy formula being that it is currently Winter (and the Dewy formula is lovely), but I plan on purchasing the Velvet formula when the weather gets warmer.

This is definitely a foundation that will NEVER leave my arsenal of foundations. As a matter of fact, this knocked off some of the ones in my stash. :-)

I have used other mineral makeup but this really feels light on the face. This shade worked for me just great. I bought some other samples to mix in case this was too light or dark but there was no need.
